As interest in becoming a pet owner increases in the lead up to Christmas, WA Government community awareness campaign ‘Adopt Don’t Shop’ is encouraging prospective pet owners to first consider adopting a dog or cat from an animal rescue organisation.
The ‘Adopt Don’t Shop’ campaign, developed by Nani Creative in partnership with Lush, leverages research insights that adopting a rescue pet can offer the best chance of a perfect match between pet and owner, thanks to the expertise and advice that animal shelters offer.
It highlights how shelters aim to link people with a pet that best suits their home and circumstances and the significant benefits of opening your heart to a rescue pet with the tagline: ‘Find your perfect match at a shelter, where characters align’.
In the run up to Christmas, the statewide campaign will be seen across TV, OOH, social, digital and press, with supporting promotion through metro and regional radio partnerships.
The campaign includes a new PetsWA visual identity that was also developed by Nani Creative. This identity will be used for future communications to support the Government's Stop Puppy Farming laws which are resulting in new rules around pet ownership in 2025.
